Ol Donyo Sabuk

Dominated by a small mountain covered in montane forest, the Ol Donyo Sabuk National Park is home to 45 species of birds including the white-browed sparrow weaver, grey- headed sparrow weaver, African pied wagtail, mourning dove, augur buzzard, African hawk eagle and purple-breasted sunbird. Buffalo are the dominant animals in the ecosystem and other wildlife include bushbucks, leopards, olive baboons, aardvarks, porcupines, mongoose, pythons and monitor lizard. The mountain’s summit also offers visitors scenic views of Mount Kenya.

Machakos Peoples Park

Surrounded by the Mua hills, Iveti forest and Kiima Kimwe hills, this is one of a kind ever green park in Africa complete with a field Amphitheatre, dancing water fountain, childrens’ play area, miniature golf courses, restaurants, solar exhibition stands, conference facilities and of course speed boat rides.

Iveti Hills

This being the second highest peak in Machakos County, the forest is famed for its scenic peaks, cedar trees, pine trees and the exceptional romantic view that’s a worth a sunrise hike or a sunrise hike and you’ll see awe- inspiring sights and enjoy the beautifully lit Machakos town and Mombasa road at night.

Kyamwilu Magical Corner

Located approximately 12km east of Machakos town along Machakos –Kangundo road this mysterious natural site has remained a subject of speculation to many.

Get thrilled as you witness nature defying gravity with water flowing up hill. On top of that, engage your car on free drive and watch it drive itself up hill or in reverse unaided.
